Bridesmaids 101-

As a bride you want your bridesmaids to look and feel beautiful on your big day- so choosing the perfect bridesmaid dress can be a difficult decision. Never fear-here are some tips and things to consider when choosing your bridesmaid dresses. The first thing to consider is your gown- you can pick details from your gown and use those same details for your bridesmaid dresses- whether it be the same fabric or a similar neckline. Another thing to contemplate is the formality of your wedding- if you’re having an elegant evening affair a tea length chiffon dress might not be your best option. However, the same adorable tea length chiffon dresses would be perfect for a lakeside summer event. The next thing to consider is your bridesmaids body type. As general rule of thumb a classic A line dress will flatter all body types. A halter style works well if you have bustier bridesmaids. If you are blessed to have an expecting bridesmaid consider a maternity style. One of the recent trends is to set apart your maid of honor by having her wear the same dress as your bridesmaids but in a different color- or to have your maid of honor wear a different dress but in the same color as the rest of the bridesmaids. Once you have narrowed down your choices you can have your local bridesmaids come in and try our favorites on. Once a final winner had been chosen your bridesmaids will need to be measured. They can be measured here or at another bridal shop in their home state. Once we have received their measurements and down payments we can place the order. On average, shipping for bridesmaids can take up to four months- we recommend ordering your bridesmaids 6-7 months before the wedding to allow ample time for production and any needed alterations.
